Eisbachwelle – Munich Surfspot Furore

Eisbachwelle, Prinzregentenstraße, Munich

The steady wave in the heart of Munich has become a world-renowend surf spot which is frequented by Munich surfers and international guests throughout the year.

Observers stand on a small bridge at the edge of the mainroad and look down on the water which comes out of a subterranean tube. It passes over a concrete step and forms an ideal steady wave.

The surfers chew up on both sides of the creek waiting for the next one to be flooded in the cold water.
Then the board is thrown on the wave and in the decisive moment followed by the surfer.
Now it is his turn to put his heart and soul on the board and show the audiance that surfing can free yourself and lift U up to a higher level of fun.

Since the 1970’s when river surfing first was discovered by Munich surfers – an active surfing community has grown around the the famous steady wave.
